2018 National Championships - Canberra - 9-11Jun18

Dear All Clubs and School Groups,

2017 has been a very successful competition year with a record number of Skippers qualifying to represent Australia at the FISAC IRSF World Championships in Shanghai, China in July 2018.

With a compressed timeframe for the 2018 competition year, due to the timings of FISAC WC18, the 2018 Australian Rope Skipping Championships have been awarded to the ACT and will be hosted by Jazzy Jumpers over the period 9 - 11 June 2018 at the Australian Institute of Sport.

More details of accommodation and transport arrangements will be released in the coming weeks, but the following link shows the venue.

The forecast for Canberra in June is 3-13 degrees, so make sure you bring your woolly jumpers. This weekend is a Long Weekend for all states except QLD.

First Time Event - Gathering of Team Australia

This year we are planning to run an optional event for Team Australia members directly before the National Competition, on Friday 8Jun18 (venue in Canberra TBA).  This event, planned for a five hour activity (1200-1700hrs), will bring the team together and allow us to bond, learn and socialise collectively before heading overseas as a National squad in the following weeks. At this stage we are engaging with professional sports psychologists, AIS Coaches and other allied sports professionals to put together a program that will be the inaugural event for Team Australia.  We are hoping to see as many of the squad attend as possible and will be working out the final details in the coming weeks.  If you have the chance to attend, we would love to see you there!  Watch out for more details soon; we wanted to advise now so when you are booking your travel details you can factor this event into your planning.

Please note this event  is planned to commence at 1200hrs to allow interstate travellers the opportunity to arrive mid morning or the previous night.  If you plan on attending, please let us know your arrival timings so we can anticpate numbers attending and plan accordingly.

Looking forward to seeing you all again in Canberra in June 2018…if you need any further information, please email or make contact with any Skipping Australia committee member.
